چکیده
We study the properties of one-dimensional topological superconductors under influence generic boundary conditions mimicking coupling with external environments. identify a general four-parameter classification effects and show that particle-hole reflection symmetries can be broken or preserved by appropriately fixing parameters. When symmetry is broken, protection edge modes lost due to hybridization degrees freedom. assess robustness in various regimes considering different quantifiers properties. In particular, we investigate resilience long-distance, edge-to-edge quantum mutual information squashed entanglement, measuring nonlocal correlations Majorana excitations. Besides their relevance for open dynamics systems, these results may provide useful guide appropriate embedding low-dimensional systems on nanodevices realistic conditions.

Interaction Effects in Topological Superconducting Wires Supporting Majorana Fermions
Among the broad spectrum of systems predicted to exhibit topological superconductivity and Majorana fermions, one-dimensional wires with strong spin-orbit coupling provide one of the most promising experimental candidates. Here we investigate the fate of the topological superconducting phase in such wires when repulsive interactions are present. Using a combination of Density Matrix Renormaliza...
متن کاملInducing topological order in dirty wires: Majorana fermions from scattering
We focus on inducing topological state from regular, or irregular scattering in (i) p-wave superconducting and (ii) proximity coupled Rashba wires. We find that while disorder is detrimental to topological state in p-wave wires, we find that it can induce topological state in Rashba wires contrary to common expectations. We find that the total phase space area of the topological state is conser...
متن کاملSpin and Majorana polarization in topological superconducting wires.
We study a one-dimensional wire with strong Rashba and Dresselhaus spin-orbit coupling (SOC), which supports Majorana fermions when subject to a Zeeman magnetic field and in the proximity of a superconductor. Using both analytical and numerical techniques we calculate the electronic spin texture of the Majorana end states. We find that the spin polarization of these states depends on the relati...
متن کاملFrom Majorana fermions to topological order.
We consider a system consisting of a 2D network of links between Majorana fermions on superconducting islands. We show that the fermionic Hamiltonian modeling this system is topologically ordered in a region of parameter space: we show that Kitaev's toric code emerges in fourth-order perturbation theory. By using a Jordan-Wigner transformation we can map the model onto a family of signed 2D Isi...
متن کاملTopological Superfluids: Majorana Fermions
The subject of topological superfluids, though they were not originally called by that name, actually antedates that of topological insulators, and has played a major role in the attempt to implement topological quantum computation (see lectures 26 and 28). Crudely speaking, the analogy with TI’s goes as follows: in a crystalline solid with spin-orbit coupling, the single-particle energy eigens...
